LAS VEGAS – The 2019 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association’s Classes 4A and 3A Nevada State High School Boys Individual Bowling Championships, presented by the Station Casinos, got underway Wednesday at the Orleans Center with the region qualifying.
The top 12 placers out of the 4A Desert and Mountain regions (combined) and the top six placers out of the 3A Southern Region (Sunrise and Sunset leagues combined) earned a berth in their respective state championship round, which is scheduled for Friday back at the Orleans.
Wednesday’s qualifying scores carry over to Friday’s finals. The championship final round will again include one series (three games) with the cumulative total determining the (top) four state medalists.
Jamison Kaboli of Boulder City, last year’s lone returning state finalist (sixth place) in the 3A, also qualified for Friday’s championship round. The Meadows Mustangs, the second seed for next week’s team tournament, garnered the top three qualifying positions in the 3A while the Boulder City Eagles, the 3A boys tournament’s top seeded team, advanced two individuals for the finals.
